Conservation genetics deal with dna, and biological manipulation and engineering in order to PROTECT and conserve, a species, diversity, or an environment. They are a preventative measure. For example, conservation genetics are used to find a weakness of an invasive species, killing that species, and thus protecting the native environment. Restoration genetics pertain to dna, and biological manipulation that is aimed towards rebuilding, a species, population, ecosystem, environment, or diversity in general after it has already been damaged. Example: A severely endangered species with only 12 members left is artificially bred by scientists who artificially inseminate them in hopes of bringing back the species.
