From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Florida ( /ˈflɒrɪdə/ (help·info)) is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States, bordering Alabama to the northwest and Georgia to the north. It was the 27th state admitted to the United States. Much of the land mass of the state is a large peninsula with the Gulf of Mexico to the west, and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. It is nicknamed the "Sunshine State" because of its generally warm climate—subtropical in the northern and central regions of the state, with a true tropical climate in the southern portion. The state has four large urban areas, a number of smaller industrial cities, and many small towns. The United States Census Bureau estimates that the state population was 18,328,340 in 2008, ranking Florida as the fourth most populous state in the U.S. Tallahassee is the state capital, Jacksonville is the largest city, and the Miami metropolitan area is the largest metropolitan area. GNU Free Documentation License How could I convince a business that Florida is the best state to move to? Q. I am trying to come up with ideas for a paper. A business is moving from California and they are trying to decide between Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. I am trying to convince them why Florida would be the best choice. I have some ideas, but I am trying to come up with as many reasons as possible. Help Please? Rob S, I live in St. Augustine too, small world, lol. Thanks for you answer. Housing is much cheaper here and it isn't all "touristy" either. Good educated workforce and great access along I-75, I-95 and I-10. They have also just expanded the Port of Jacksonville, so if you are importing and exporting, there is an even greater advantage. I just moved here 3 months ago and love it. Oh, and as far as hurricanes go, the northeast coast of Florida doesn't get hit nearly as often as the gulf side, or the Carolinas. I think the last one was in the 1960's out my way. Q. I am organising a family trip this Christmas. We have done the East Coast of USA and were planning Europe but after a brief (week) trip to Philly & NY a couple of weeks ago my children are now keen to go and do the West Coast probably starting in NY going up to Boston and then down to Florida ending in a cruise around the Bahamas. We would be away 3 weeks approx with two travelling and one on the cruise. Is there plenty to see coming down the coast and what do you suggest. Where would be best places to spend a little time already looking at Philly, Washington, where else would be a great experience for 16 and 13 year old? Should we motorhome or being winter (having been in that cold March week) would we be better off driving and… [cont.] Asked by rogs - Mon Mar 26 20:55:38 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. If you go down the coast you should go through the chesapeake bridge tunnel, pop into baltimore and see the great aquarium, stop at ocean beach too and have some fresh lobster.
